Go Karting yay!

609 zao3yang2 lu, near guangfu lu
It's in one corner of changfeng park 长风公园, kind of between exits 2 and 4.

Nearest metro jinshajiang lu on line 3/4.  it's only one stop from zhongshan park metro on line 2.  20 minute walk from jinshajiang metro to the park.  then another 15 minute walk to the karting place.  best take a taxi!

60rmb for an 8 minute race.  buy 6 tickets for the price of 5.  so between 3 people two races each for 100 rmb.

there's a very nice bar to relax in between and after races.  do bear in mind that some people are drinking beer and racing (the lao wais).  in fact many of our group came straight from champagne brunch at the westin.

given this, and also the design of the crash barriers, i would suggest wearing a helmet, even though no-one else does, and the mgt do not enforce it.  the barriers are curved at the bottom, the result being that a car can ride up them.  we saw a car get 'squeezed' against a barrier at speed, and it rode up the side of the barrier.  chances of getting flipped over are minimal i'd say, but better to wear the helmet.

also watch that your seatbelt is not too tight and not too loose.  mine was loose on one side, tight on the other.  when i got side-rammed at speed, i got a seatbelt burn on my neck which looks like a really strange love-bite.  my girlfriend will kill me when she sees it! haha

overall, great fun!  simple queuing system, very good (but indoor) track.  some cars are faster than others, but hey it's all good fun.

we sat in the park for a bit afterwards, which was nice and relaxing, watching the paddle boats and the random people camping (yes camping) by the lakeside.
