Fireworks

Ho ho
i didn't see any fireworks on new year's eve, but my taxi driver home did offer to sell me some from the back of his car.

for 30 kuai each (2 pounds), he was selling mortar launched fireworks that looked like bombs. They woudl explode, launching into the air, and then explode once more. Pretty impressive height, really not bad. he let one off from the nearby bridge on suzhou creek.

distinctly different to the ones i'm used to - the ones you stick in the ground, and then they slowly fly up to the sky using a rocket. no no, these just explode themselves out of a big steel mortar tube. hard core!

haha can't wait for a good opportunity to have a fireworks party hehe :)
