Only in China... selling ladies' trousers

Only in China it seems, do shopkeepers face the rear ends of their mannequins out.  Walking the streets or a mall, you will often walk past a line of mannequins modelling trousers, all proudly facing back-side out.  Vera tells me that customers buying trousers here want to know what the rear-end looks like - apparently that's what will clinch the deal (hoho).  It makes perfect sense of course, but still makes me laugh every time I walk past a shop display.

To me this is a perfect example of challenging what I already know and believe.  Sure there's a way of doing things in the West.  But is it the best way?

Take lift buttons for example.  Here, it's quite common that if you miss-press a button, you can press it once more to cancel it.  And if that doesn't work, pressing it a few more times sometimes then does the trick to cancel it.  I tried this again in the UK - still no good - once pressed there is no turning back.  Not something I ever thought about back home.  Didn't know I needed it.  But it's great.
