Extending the lease?

Having spent a little time looking into alternative accomodation options, our landlord has given in and reduced our rent by 1000 a month in order to keep us. Which is good because we were way overpaying to start with anyway.

Here are my suggestions for handy places to stay on metro line number two (good for Pudong, Nanjing road and closer to Hongqiao airport). All places have 3 bedroom apartments with prices ranging from 7000 to 10000 rmb a month (about 600 pounds a month). Search for prices on http://rent.online.sh.cn/

金色家园 Jin Se jia Yuan. 黄浦区 青岛路 north of people's square. 1 minute to line 1, 7 minutes to line 2. lived in by yours truly. great apartments, pool, tennis, basketball, but really crappy surrounding areas. want to wear nosepeg and blindfold on the way to work.

The below areas we think are better because they have better supermarket/restaurant options. But the apartment compounds don't have as good facilities. But hey it's too hot to play tennis anyway.

云和花园 延平路/新闸路. yun he jia yuan. jing an se. 8/9 minutes walk north of jing an temple station. jiu guang supermarket in jing an temple station is excellent, and there are some good eateries including relax78, chatea, a bread shop, and some fast food joints.

圣约翰名邸（长宁路1188弄/中山公园）St John, zhong shan park. pool.

兆丰嘉园 汇川路/长宁路888号 zhao feng jia yuan. zhongshan park. 2 minutes to line 2 and 3. view over the park. opposite the back entrance of the station (carrefour)
